Gloria Riviera has been on the front lines of breaking news around the world for the past 25 years. She covers breaking, investigative, and feature stories for ABC News’ flagship broadcasts and social media platforms: Good Morning America, World News Tonight, Nightline, ABC News radio and the Start Here podcast. She is currently based in Washington DC and filing primarily for Nightline.

As an investigative journalist, she’s uncovered gripping stories related to terrorism and counter-terrorism, human rights abuse, women’s reproductive rights, nuclear disarmament and women’s empowerment in third world countries. In 2017, her award-winning work exposing under-age sex-trafficking in “Daughters for Sale” illustrated the horrors of trafficking here in the United States and brought desperate attention to an often invisible issue. She is a leader in advocating for culture change in newsrooms around the world through her work as a senior strategist in training development and co-founder of the non-profit Press Forward.
